Summary:Because of the shilly-shally democratic transition in Africa, it is impossible to have a clear idea of the sort of society which is proposed as a model.However the theory of « fluid political conjunctures » formulated by Michel Dobry throws light on certain aspects of this unending transition by allowing a new approach in the analysis of the failure of the democratisation process in Africa.According to this theory « fluid political conjunctures cause major upheavals that upset the usual frames of reference. They are also remarkable because they generate a social dynamism and specific tactical and structural processes ».
