| 總結: | Despite the advances in science, there are still many patients with serious illnesses. The general practitioner should have an important role in terms of support. However, it is not a reference for the majority of these patients. The objective of this study is to understand how a patient manages to overcome such an ordeal, through related experiences, in order to find points to improve with regards to the management by the GP. A qualitative survey by semi guided individual interviews with fourteen patients with an incurable disease was carried out. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and then coded. Being determined, having an entourage that is present, despite the difficulties are among the characteristics that help to develop strength of character to overcome this life ordeal. An empathetic approach based on the relationship between the patient and his general practitioner seems to be the request of the various patients interviewed. The disease is experienced by the patient as a permanent and solitary battle, mostly supported by the family and the medical specialists explaining the non-use of their GP, but their expectations and their desire to understand and be helped opens the way to interesting perspectives. |
