| सारांश: | In psychiatry, we are regularly confronted with the refusal of psychological care from our patients, less of physical care The author relates the case of a psychotic subjet suffering from cancer, hospitalized in a geriatric-psychiatry unit. The patient’s refusal of certain care, dominated by her desir to be relieved of her pain, continued until the last moments of her life. This end-of-life support was a test for all the professionals involved, and caused division and ethical dilemns put to work within the collective. The questioning focused on respecting the patients’s request, on the ideal of end-of-life support and on the limits of our mission as caregivers. |
