Izvleček:The notion of sodomyths defined here allows us to understand homophobia in the way it was expressed in Libreville after the coup d’État, and the accusations of pederasty aimed at the fallen regime. These discourses reduce homosexuals to the status of loose anuses that threaten the social order and the “development” of the country, and stress the re-criminalization of homosexuality, from the perspective of the “restoration of dignity” announced by the military. An analysis reveals, however, that this position is actually the counterpart of what it is incriminating – that is, a power that would have given value to homosexuality to please the West – in such a way that both translate the violence inscribed in the social definition of the value of homosexual lif, and illustrate how the logic of capitalist “value dissociation” operates in this context.
