Student councils promote cooperative norms, particularly the expectation that individual participation should be guided by the collective interest. The article explores the various ways in which students take ownership of the student council, some of which align with the norm of collective interest, while others diverge from it. It questions the potential discrepancies between visible participation and the internalization of cooperative norms, and calls for reflection on how student councils are implemented — particularly regarding the pedagogical support for cooperative norms. |
