Samenvatting:To date, very few studies have focused on reducing stress during pregnancy. Yet, stress can have negative impacts on the mother and her child. À systematic review without date limitation was conducted using the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Cochrane. The studies were evaluated using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Finally, 16 studies were selected: 14 randomized controlled trials, one pilot study, and one mixed-method observation study. Of the 16 studies, 9 included mindfulness interventions, 3 used music therapy or aromatherapy, and 4 implemented relaxation interventions. The results show a significant reduction in stress and anxiety in pregnant women for all interventions. Other effects were observed such as an increase in mindfulness, a reduction in cortisol levels, and an improvement in sleep quality.
