| Sumari: | This article details how the philosophical concept of the “second life” developed by the French philosopher and sinologist François Jullien and how the clinical social work practice documented by French psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist Michèle Benhaïm shed light on recent developments in psychoanalytic practice in ressource-deprived healthcare settings servicing marginalized individuals. Taking cues from the ongoing dialog between François Jullien and the French clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst Olivier Douville, it highlights how the concept of the unheard can be attached to a theoretical and practical anthropological framework capable of assisting clinicians working with marginalized individuals in resource-deprived settings on a simultaneously ethical, political, epistemological, and technical level. By way of a clinical tale, the article concludes with an illustration of two operative concepts: the “theoretical fiction(s)” and the “wandering breathgesture(s)”, thus attempting to demonstrate how such concepts could contribute to the literal re-invention of Freudian psychoanalysis. This article was written in the context of the author’s participation to the ongoing research program “F. Deligny and contemporary clinical practices” led by Derek Humphreys (Tenured Professor and Research Director, University Paris-Cité) and funded by the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (MSH) Paris-Nord. |
