Zusammenfassung:The article explores the border as a dynamic and polysemic space rather than a simple dividing line. The author positions the tourist as an active agent who not only crosses physical or legal boundaries but also reinvents and transforms them into resources for identity construction. The text distinguishes between the border as a symbolic limit (the customs officer), a porous space of exchange (the duty-free zone), and a socio-economic frontier (access wristbands, class distinctions). By crossing these thresholds, tourists engage with otherness, playing with cultural codes and perceptions of authenticity. Rather than serving as simple obstacles, frontiers become sites of creativity, tension between residents and visitors, and cooperation, exemplified by the EnjoyPyr project in the Pyrenees. Ultimately, the tourist is portrayed as a border player inhabiting a state of liminality, turning discontinuity into a fertile experience. This perspective reshapes our understanding of contemporary mobility, where the frontier is no longer a wall but a theatre of multifaceted expression and a space for social and cultural reconfiguration.
