| Streszczenie: | The aim of this article is to establish the degree of penetration and assimilation of the Italian fascist movement among those Spanish elites who were seeking a solution to the “social question”, on the basis of archives and the Madrid daily press. We took under consideration the period between 1922 and the Spanish Civil War. After a review of the historical conditions of the reception of the March on Rome, the first part studies the different channels of diffusion, the Italian influencers and their Spanish relays within the diplomatic service, the government and the intellectuals. The second part traces e various stages in the partial assimilation of the Italian model: the “aesthetic path” of the twenties, idealising vision in relation to the use of The Ancient Rome; the combination of the Catholic corporatist tradition with Italian projects under General Primo de Rivera dictatorship; the jump onto the political arena from 1931, with a magazine, La Conquista del Estado, and then a party, the Falange. |
