| Sažetak: | The objective of this article is to better understand the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in African small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly in Senegal. With this aim in mind, we conducted eleven semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs. The results obtained from a manual thematic analysis reveal that CSR has a social and solidarity-driven dimension. Indeed, these entrepreneurs consider it an opportunity to support people on a low income by alleviating their difficulties, particularly during religious or cultural festivals. Education, significant events in the life of the entrepreneur, and their degree of involvement in society influence CSR practices within these SMEs. Finally, employee well-being also constitutes an incentive for these entrepreneurs to adopt CSR strategies, such as benefits in kind, protective equipment, and flexible working hours. |
