Sažetak:Circular economy practices are well documented in developed countries, but much less so in developing countries. In view of this shortcoming, and given that the possibilities for implementing the circular economy differ greatly between the two, this article examines the modalities of the circular economy, based on the case of the revalorization of used tyres in Cameroon, as well as the practices of its players and the new products obtained. The data collected during a qualitative study show that the revalorization of used tyres is mainly the private initiative of people in search of a livelihood. The factors that encourage their activity, as well as the obstacles they encounter in revalorizing tyres, are described in detail. The article sheds light on circular economy practices in Africa and on the organizational and institutional arrangements that could be put in place to enhance the benefits of these practices.
