| Sammanfattning: | In Canada, colonial history and its contemporary effects on Indigenous communities have led to the development of research approaches by, for, and with Indigenous communities. These approaches are based on methodologies of knowledge co-production, the ownership of data by Indigenous communities, and the transformative dimension of the research process. This pluralistic epistemology values Indigenous knowledge, which integrates spiritual, cultural, and environmental dimensions that are inseparable from the context in which it was developed. In addition to presenting these dimensions, this article takes a closer look at the challenges of knowledge co-production between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in the field of health, from the perspective of the allied research posture. |
