| Streszczenie: | This article presents the first empirical results of research into entrepreneurship, using an ad hoc methodology based on contributions from narratology. The aim of the research is to shed light on the reality experienced by entrepreneurs as part of a process-based approach to entrepreneurship. The use of narration as a process enabled three levels to be observed: entrepreneurship, the company, and the entrepreneur, while the use of storytelling as a particular form of narrative crystallizes the learning that individuals obtain from their experience. Entrepreneurial action observed in this way raises questions about what drives people to embark on entrepreneurship, but even more so about what keeps them on this arduous path. Reading the empirical results through Greimas’s actantial model suggests that the act of entrepreneurship should be seen as a posture that originates in intentionality, while the knowledge acquired by the entrepreneur retains an equal value whether the business continues or ceases.
