| Итог: | How can the current demands for Eucharistic adoration be understood and how can a pastoral response be adequately developed? With respect, openness and discernment. Maris-Josée Poiré remind us that the practices of adoration emerged at a time when the significance and the stakes surrounding the Eucharist were no longer understood. Because the liturgical renewal of the 20th century has not done much to develop formation and initiation to the Eucharist, demands for adoration are still being heard. How should one respond to these demands? The important rule is to recognize that it is the celebration and the sacramental communion that gives its significance to adoration, and not the reverse. The celebration of Holy Thursday clearly illustrates this indissoluble link. During the Holy Thursday celebration, adoration is not an act of private or personal devotion. Eucharistic adoration should thus be conceived within a frameword of celebration and community. We are invited to rediscover the Eucharist as a meal on our journey. |
