| Resumo: | This collective paper is the result of a discussion between sociologists, political scientists, and linguists, all of whom have previously ethnographed activist spaces and focused in particular on how language is used. They explore the contribution of an ethnography of language to understanding the strategies for forming alliances between collectives, the process of developing common arguments, activist socialization, the communicational aspects of the struggles studied, and the forms of discursive reflexivity that these struggles imply. This exchange also provides an opportunity to discuss the problems raised by making backstage strategies public through research work, and the effects of such publicity insofar as it may conflict with the interests of the collectives being investigated. Regarding these different topics, the researchers will share their field experiences and their methodological, analytical, and ethical toolboxes. |
