Resumo:We can retrace some of the tensions in recent social movements to the influence in them of neoliberal concepts and practices of collective social engagement. this influence can prevent collective action from having a democratizing effect by preventing solidarity, depoliticizing action, and weakening its social roots. We can, on the contrary, imagine other kinds of collective practices, inspired by mass militantism from the first half of the 20 th century, but also taking in account its democratic failings.
