| Resumo: | In recent years, social networks have become increasingly popular, and young internet users have created a cryptic language that distinguishes itself from everyday language. This new linguistic system is a form of cryptic jargon that typically refers to language created and used by a given group to facilitate communication among themselves and prevent others from easily decrypting it. In this article, I aim to shed new light on this phenomenon through a new lexical corpus derived from the Chinese online platform TikTok. Several characteristics have been identified. |
