Opis
Streszczenie:It appears that it is impossible to give a cross-linguistic definition of the notion of subject. In many languages, there is an actant characterized by a number of particular grammatical properties, which may be called subject properties, but the list of those properties is widely variable across languages. In ergative languages and in experiential sentences, the set of subject properties is divided into coding properties and referential properties and each subset applies to a different actant. On this basis a typology can be established.
