Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:This paper is dedicated to the language situation of Kashubian, as neither in the linguists’ nor social consciousness there is an agreement on the fact whether it is a distinct language or a dialect of the Polish language. In the article different criteria are consecutively analyzed, from linguistic, through cultural and political, to psychological. It appears, however, that none is sufficient, when it comes to not only meritoric arguments, but also emotional. From here derives a suggestion of using a neutral concept of ethnolect, which, contrary to concepts of dialect and language, does not have a valuation character.
