Shrnutí:Both in the written and the oral form, the dialects have always been the great reserve of the Italian language, which has never had a spoken " pendant ", being born as a literary language. The only true spoken language was, especially in the past, dialect. Italian writers have always derived data from this huge reserve. For each of them a representative sample of their " regionality " is given.
