Resumo:The Haitian Creole is a result of natural acquisition of non-standard varieties of oral French as there were spoken in the 17th and the 18th centuries. Its development followed patterns – such as reanalysis, grammaticalization, analogy – which can be observed in all natural languages. Its system of interrogative morphemes is an interesting association of conservatism and innovation. The purpose of this paper is to account for these phenomena. For the most part, the data used here are excerpt from the Atlas linguistique d’Ha ïti –  a description of a language as it is spontaneously used, without being constraint by any institutional norm and therefore constitutes an ideal resource for studying the mechanisms of natural evolution.
