要約:RéSUMé This paper examines the relations between the linguistic concept of connotation and the poetic text in André Martinet’s mind. Martinet defines the connotations as all that a word can call up and suggest to any particular speaker. The connotations have an essential function in the poetic usage of language because the writer’s purpose is to transmit his personal connotations to the reader and share them with him. In order to reach his aim the poet uses a privileged rhetorical process called " polysemy ".
