| Riassunto: | The aim of this paper is to study the use of French même with proper names in noun phrases such as le/ce + même + nom propre. Such constructions are very enigmatical insomuch as même seems to be at first glance incompatible with proper names. We will try to give an answer to this riddle. More specially, we explain under wich circumstances and with which interpretations such arrangements will be take place. Our analysis, based on the previous descriptions realised by Gary-Prieur (1996 and 2001) and Noailly (2000 and 2003), throw in relief the exact part playing by même and the modified proper name in these proprial phrases. |
