Zusammenfassung:Given the increase in requests for transcultural consultations for unaccompanied minors, understanding the professional positionings of interpreters working with this population is rich in lessons. Four semi-structured interviews with interpreters were analyzed in order to understand their positionings including countertransference reactions. Even though the professional attitudes were specific for each interpreter, we found some concerns expressed by all interviewees: the need of empathy when listening and the need for hyper-adaptability. The research indicated ways of improving the quality of work of the interpreters, which could promote the therapeutic alliance: training in different settings, supervision, pre- and post-intervention discussions with the therapeutic team as well as analytical work on the unique story of each person in resonance with their migratory and professional trajectory.
