| Итог: | While local knowledge plays a central role in the emergence of indigenous claims, knowledge related to Kanak therapeutic practices occupies a relatively marginal position in identity claims. This article analyzes the evolution of the place given to medicinal knowledge in Kanak political sovereignty – from privately held and clan-transmitted knowledge kept in secrecy, to the contemporary valorization of ethnobotanical heritage and the reformulation of public health policies. This process is accompanied by the reconfiguration of transmission mechanisms and marked by the arrival of new associative and institutional actors, including kanak women. Based on ethnographic research in Lifou, the article examines how independence actors discuss health and social issues, exploring the political, economic, and ethical stakes. It also highlights the foregrounding of Oceanian values related to relationality in care issues, which also permeate Oceanian forms of sovereignty. |
