Riassunto:‪Feminist movements and social sciences have inspired urban planning and citizen participation, spurring a new direction taking into account gender inequalities. Since the ’60s and ’70s, this particular research has played a significant role in questioning the ways we design our cities and public spaces. However, despite significant progress in the cause of women and LGBTQIA+ individuals, challenges remain, particularly with regard to the effective integration of gender in participatory practices and the fight against inequalities. At a crossway between limits and paradoxes, taking users diversity into account does not seem compatible with the current rules of capitalism and the classic processes of urban projects’ development. These challenges are highlighted through the study of a participatory system implemented by the City of Paris.‪
