| الملخص: | People living with HIV (PLHIV) have unique life paths characterized by the significant health and social impacts of the virus. Effective treatments have turned HIV infection into a chronic disease, enabling PLHIV to grow old and benefit from a life expectancy similar to that of the general population, although they do age earlier with more comorbidities. Today in France, around 10% of PLHIV are over 60 years old, and a growing portion of these people have to rely on medico-social establishments (MSEs), especially in case of loss of autonomy. The V.I.AGE study, funded by Sidaction and promoted by Gérond’if, was carried out in the Île-de-France region in the context of an aging population of PLHIV. The following groups were interviewed: HIV-positive people aged 60 and over who use MSEs, and the professionals who work in these facilities (health professionals and facility staff). This work has made it possible to identify the specific features, needs, and obstacles associated with the growing support for HIV-positive older adults provided by MSEs. |
