| Tóm tắt: | The author of this article proposes distinguishing between a request and a need within the context of psychotherapy, as the two are often confused both in the client’s expression and in the practitioner’s perception. The request is embedded in the relationship with the other and often repeats past dependency dynamics. The need refers to the deeper movement of emancipation that motivates the client to undertake the process. Based on clinical situations studied in supervision, the author shows the richness of this distinction for supporting the therapeutic process. |
