| Riassunto: | The notion of temporary organization can lead us to think that a structure appears spontaneously and has no lasting consequences. However, in recent years, the academic literature has demonstrated that short-duration actions by many organizations can have lasting consequences. The objectives of this study are to explore the sustainable logistical legacy that an event can leave in its local area and to question the relationship between a logistical legacy and a strong local economic dynamic. On the basis of the notion of the pulsar effect and the use of a method that integrates multiple case studies (20 popular music festivals and their local areas), our research demonstrates the existence of a logistical legacy favoring economic development for cities of modest size. The main contribution of this article is to highlight the moderating role of the ratio of an area’s usual population to the population during the event with the emergence of positive externalities. |
