Résumé:At a time when the book is relegated more and more behind the screen, the expression “eating the book” not only re-questions the status of the object-book, but also that of reading. In the context of learning, school and the cult of reading one wonders to what extent one still eats the book: are pupils still hungry for reading? Faced with new forms of behaviour towards the book and new methods of reading, focus shifts onto the palpable and evaluable left-overs of an eaten book. How then does one grow with a signifier that eats us as subjects?
