| Riassunto: | Faced with a multitude of variants in the psychoanalytic situation in America, is the transmission of psychoanalysis viable? And yet, even as desire is ever more commodified in late Capitalism and segregation is increasingly prevalent, something essential of psychoanalysis persists despite the best efforts to concoct an antidote. Lacan’s disturbing assertion that the analyst hystorizes only from himself points to the peculiar social link that constitutes the discourse of psychoanalysis, to the particularity of each cure that has the potential to escape the institutional hierarchies that would determine the praxis.
