| Summary: | This article is a theoretical reflection focusing on the psychopathology of witchcraft etiologies in the Togolese context. Witchcraft etiologies present the feeling of persecution through diverse polysemic representations that are cultural, spiritual, and imaginary. Using a psychodynamic interpretive framework in which intra-, inter-, and transpsychic spaces of reality are interwoven, we examine the psychic conflicts contained in these etiologies. Clinical examination of these etiologies reveals that they are driven by affective and impulsive dynamics centered on psychopathological issues that operate on several levels. They enable us to understand the relationship that the subject has with themselves, with others, and with their family heritage. |
