| Resumo: | We often wonder whether incubators are effective in bringing entrepreneurial projects to life. We more rarely question their ability to… cause death. The question is not so absurd, however. In some cases, incubators artificially keep alive startups that are doomed to die. This represents a waste of time, luck and opportunity for entrepreneurs, who would be better off failing quickly to devote their energy to more fertile projects. This mechanism of “zombification” proliferates when two factors come together: the interest of the incubator which is reluctant to display failures to its partners and the denial in which the entrepreneur can lock himself, who misinterprets the lean startup injunctions, confusing perseverance with obstinacy. |
