Yhteenveto:Behind this apparently complicated title, our point is about returning to the project of philosophizing in an African language, the Mooré of Burkina Faso, initiated about ten years ago by the author of this article. The project has already generated several publications. It seems to be well underway and is inspiring African researchers from different countries. It is legitimate to start questioning the scope of the innovation it brings. If a pessimistic hypothesis pushes us to reduce it to a translation of concepts conveyed in texts in European languages, another one, more optimistic, finds in it the possibility of provoking a renewal of philosophical discourse from the African continent. If confirmed, the optimistic hypothesis could attract significant changes in African intellectual life based on the promotion of African languages reinforced by philosophy. The contribution of philosophy to the evolution of African societies should be better asserted with the promotion of African languages.
