Sumario:This article proposes some ideas for structuring family treatment in the context of domestic violence. These hypotheses have been developed from a complex clinical situation in which the violence is intertwined at several levels (between the parents, on the children, and from the eldest child on the mother and siblings) and has led to psychotrauma, both complex for the mother and developmental for the children. The aim of this paper is to help therapists work through their uncertainties and develop a structure based on three sequences (stabilization, work on violence, consolidation – narration) with specific settings and objectives, so as to integrate issues of psychotrauma into systemic family psychotherapy.
