Beskrivelse
Summary:A short account of the experience of translating Les Deux Beune by Pierre Michon in Dutch, a translation due to be published in 2024 as Het stroomdal van de Beune by Van Oorschot publications in Amsterdam. Pointed out is the specific intertextuality produced by the familiarity of the translator with Michons works: certain motives, as the alternation of verbal tenses or the effects of rhyme, function as resonances of earlier texts. The benevolence of the author is invoked as condition of the particular jouissance that accompanies the translating act.
