Gaia:How can we still listen to and support men in the age of #MeToo and the Mazan rape trial? How can I, as a situated, feminist and queer psychotherapist, stay attentive to the singularity of the subject without being too invaded by the systemic aspects of patriarchy, its consequences on mental health and care? In this article, we propose to discuss a few clinical vignettes that challenge the so-called neutrality of the psychotherapist and question her political position. We will look at gender inequality in access to mental health care, the impact of sexism on men, and gendered care. Finally, we will refer to Silvia Lippi’s sororal relationship in an attempt to revive the psychic process in the transference-countertransference dynamic.
