Resumo:How are we to understand that episodes of domestic violence can not only last but end in femicide? In the light of previous publications and the work of René Kaës, the author proposes to consider recurrent scenes of violence as echoing an unconscious connivance activated or associated by both partners with traumatic experiences. Self-projected identification, the instrumentalization of one’s own body, combined with reexternalization on the other, organize the defense against the resurgence of traces of traumatic experiences and desperately strive to keep illusions alive.
