| Résumé: | The data market legislation currently put in place by the European Union (EU), such as the Data Governance Act and the Data Act, aims to enhance data access and data sharing while maintaining protection requirements. As a fundamental element of the European Union’s digital policy, this legislation charts its own regulatory course, distinct from the American and Chinese digital regulation models. A review of the recently adopted and forthcoming legal provisions highlights the uniqueness of the European data market, which focuses on both voluntary and mandatory data-sharing mechanisms. EU legislation also sets out specific implementation procedures, centered in particular on the crucial issue of digital trust and the gradual establishment of common European data-sharing spaces.
