We owe it to Athanasius, bishop of Alexandria, to have imposed the vision of a unique and structured Arian party, to better highlight by contrast his own figure as opponent and defender of the true faith. It was only later that he retained the Council of Nicaea and its formula of faith as a clear marker of this orthodox faith.
