| Tóm tắt: | This article is based on several hours of semi-structured interviews with five people who intimately experienced the dramatic events of the summer of 1974 in Cyprus, as well as the preceding period and the fifty years that followed. For them, the effects of those events have lasted down to the present. Some of our subjects were in Cyprus in 1974, others elsewhere. All were profoundly impacted by the violent transformation of the ethno-political topography of the island. The five cases do not constitute a whole, since they couldn’t at first sight appear more dissimilar, but in their very diversity, they present a portion of the oral history of Cyprus, and thus the Mediterranean. |
