Resumo:“We had a sexuality since the eighteenth century, a sex since the nineteenth. Before that, we probably had flesh” (Foucault, 1977, p. 133). We examine here how, in the twenty-first century, “gender or sex identity”, by imposing its truth of and about sex, attempts to annul all theoretical constructions of sexuality and to oppose Freudian and Foucauldian conceptions. Thanks to Foucault, in the continuity of Freudian theses, we consider how gender identity ultimately introduces a cultic totalitarianism, a “governmentality” (Foucault) akin to a totalitarian discourse. Our work follows the long development of Foucaultian theses on sex and sexuality, and confronts the most recent social phenomena (confessions, coming out, media lynchings, etc.) or the most intimate clinical situations that question these relationships between sexuality, truth and subjectivity.
