| Özet: | The article highlights the practical capacity of the gift relationship to infiltrate and subvert market logic. It draws its arguments from an extension of the phenomenological approach developed by Ricœur in Paths of Recognition. Successively examining the logical, ethical, and practical dimensions of generous giving, it illuminates the dialectic between love and justice that underlies it, rooted in the ethics of gratitude. As evidenced by the analysis of transactions involving both gift and sale, placed under the register of gratitude, the gift is an expression of the ethical desire to live well together, in mutual kindness and care. The subversive power of the gift over market logic stems from the strength of this desire. While the gift wields this power at the risk of its own corruptions, it nevertheless demonstrates that the ethical desire from which it draws is a profound source of resistance and opposition to the generalization of market logic, and by extension, to the unreason of capitalism. |
