| Sammanfattning: | This article examines the clinical research conducted in the United States from the 1990 s onwards that led to the inclusion of complex post-traumatic stress disorder in the eleventh edition of the International Classification of Diseases. It reviews key concepts such as complex trauma, Type I and Type II trauma in children, developmental trauma disorder, and complex post-traumatic stress disorder, highlighting their implications for child and adolescent psychiatry. Ultimately, the notion of complex trauma in children appears more as an oversimplification than as an application of genuine “complex thinking”. |
