Methods : Forty protocols of subjects aged eighteen to thirty-five, twenty French and twenty Lebanese, matched for age and socioeconomic status and diagnosed with BPD according to DSM-V criteria, were analyzed for the purpose of this study. Data processing was based on qualitative content analysis of the narratives collected and quantitative analysis including descriptive and comparative statistics. The results show similarities between the two populations in the perception and recognition of the latent content of the cards, emotional expression, and the use of avoidance, projection, and denial defense mechanisms. Cairn restricted access
