Abstract. – This studies two statue fragments in the Musée d’Arles et de la Provence : from a male head crowned with oak, like figures of Tiber, and with the oak suggesting a posthumous portrait ; and the legs of a draped seated statue, of the Jupiter-Kostüm type. Details suggest that both belong to a Tiberius shown as Jupiter, placed in the frons scenae of the Arles theatre, built in the Claudian period. |
