| Summary: | In this interview, Sabrina Fernandes looks back on her journey from the discovery of Marxism to her ecosocialist commitment and her efforts to pass on critical weapons for a radical transition and resistance to green capitalism. She takes stock of the forces at work on the ecosocial front in South America. This front is inevitably a composition, blending ecomarxism with indigeneous struggles, ecofeminist struggles, land and food issues, Amazonia, and the prospects for resistance to the resurgence of mining in the context of green capitalism, which redeploys and renews « sacrifice zones ». Above all, she underlines the imperative of thinking of the ecological transition not as an agenda of sectoral reforms, but as a political program, from which to organize the linking of struggles and a common transformative vision. Sabrina Fernandes proposes a number of ways of understanding how to move this South American ecosocial front forward - a front that must necessarily take on an internationalist dimension, since all the issues described here involve debates on the modalities of bifurcation in rich countries. |
