Résumé:Starting from the analogy between the transparent simplicity of the “Robinsonnade” and the transparent rationality of communism, as indicated in the first chapter of Capital, the author examines the hypothesis, postulated by a number of recent critics of Marxian communism, of the equivalence between a collective transparency and a homogenous, perfectly unified society. The author seeks to demonstrate that communism does not imply an ideal of total clarity and homogeneity, insofar as its transparency is restricted to the process of production, and insofar as the implementation of such a transparency presupposes the independence of individuals.
