| Sumario: | In the post-Cold War world, the US seeks "license for world-wide interventionism".The point of the war against Serbia was to maintain NATO's (mostly the US'S) "credibility" in the use of force, while stimulating military production and sales and reinforcing control over Europe. The US is increasingly seen as a rogue state and in fact behaves as one in its defiance of international law. Its continuing reliance on nuclear deterrents can only precipitate a new arms race. It seeks to avoid appearing "fully rational" in the eyes of potential adversaries. Many of these are Third World countries which are presented as dangerous even as their problems of economic development are neglected. |
