He nevertheless considers socialism, which suppresses the market, to be the fulfillment of the claims of bourgeois law. In place of this conception, which unites two successive social phases under a sole conception of law, Jacques Bidet substitutes the theory of a single form of modern society, whose "meta-structure" (a concept that is both legal and economic) presides over the configuration of this society, in terms of class relations, and also over its historical movement. He therefore proposes a critique of the Marxian theory of law, a critique which does however draw support from the dialectical approach intrinsic to Marxism.Cairn free access
